Re-Designing Antiques
When I was very little, I inherited a box of jewellery from my paternal Grandmother in Scotland. I never really knew her, but selling it always just felt wrong. None of it suits me so I don't wear it either, which seems like a waste. Many, many years later, I have finally decided (with Dad's blessing) to take the stones and gold, and redesign it into something I love and will wear.
Old rings are pretty gross! They have years and years of stuff caked around the stones and settings, which makes them look all dull and lifeless.

However, give them 10 minutes in a hot ultrasonic tank and what a difference!

The opal is beautiful (and happens to be my birthstone) and the little diamonds that surround it are lovely and sparkly, so I think I'll start with that one. I have a design in my head already - watch this space...
